Reports Minimize

Vienna displays a number of graphs to a user, within the reports section, to aid in assessing project completeness. Vienna also provides the ability for a user to automatically generate a word document report in either Microsoft Word 2003, 2007 and 2010. You can click on any of the graphs listed in the left pane of the reports section as shown below. Within the graphing area you also have the control to select which graph type you prefer to use. Simply select the graph type from the drop down and this should be applied to all graphs.

When you wish to generate a documented report from Vienna you should start by configuring your Report Settings, by clicking on that option on the left. You will then see the screen shown below.

You can select each entity or the module flag to include or exclude an entity from the report you generate. In the Report Template section you can choose the template for the document you wish to generate and the location Vienna should generate the report to. If you click on Print Preview at any time from the Vienna Toolbar you will also be able to see your report with its current settings. To utilise your document templates you should open the current document template, save it as a different filename and then edit it. Once you have changed the document template you want to use you need simply browse to the template file and select it from the template selection. The output directory for the report can be specified in the same manner. If you generate Reports with the same name Vienna will automatically append a time stamp to each report and not replace any previously created.

You may have noticed the 'Apply Filter' link in the 'Requirements' report configuration settings.  You can click this link to launch the Apply Filter window. You can specify what is included and excluded in your report by moving entities from or to the included and excluded columns (this functionality exists in the 'Test Cases' and 'Defects' report settings too). Once you are happy you can then click on the 'Generate Report' button on the top menu bar to create your Microsoft Word report.
