Vienna 2.1 Released - Free Test Management Tool - Friday, November 06, 2009

Firstly Thank You for downloading, using and providing your feedback on NMQA’s Vienna.
We have had at least 1000 downloads of Vienna Desktop Edition Now and this increases every day.
Also a quick Thank you to those of you that have posted links, reviews and information related to Vienna. (Especially our friends in the UK, US, Denmark & Poland)
And Congratulations to the development team here for getting this release together.
 
It give me great pleasure to announce the release of “Vienna - Desktop Edition” Version 2.1. For those of you awaiting the 2.1 “Server Release” this will be on Monday 9th.
 
We have listened to the results of the survey and will be looking at video capture and new test case types for Vienna 2010 (Due for Release Q1 2010).
We have started a new survey and any feedback will be appreciated. You can also provide feedback by emailing our support team.
 
We are also developing our “Vienna Enterprise” Onsite & Cloud offering for release in Q1 2010 so please keep an eye out for it.
Vienna Enterprise is a Microsoft SharePoint 2007 enabled web version of Vienna. This can be hosted by NMQA (Microsoft Azure) or deployed on site.

Trials of Vienna - Client Server will also be available from our website with the 2010 Release.
You can currently request a month trial of client server by emailing support@nmqa.com
 
The highlights of the 2.1 build can be summarised as below:
 
·         Vienna has now been certified as compatible for Windows 7. - Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Centre
·         Vienna Help File is now packaged within the build.
·         You can import and export to and from Microsoft Excel from the Requirements and Defects Module.
·         When you Automatically Raise Defects all the test steps up to the defect are automatically added to the defect record.
·         When you import any entity from a Vienna File Type or Excel (Requirements & Defects Only) you can replace existing entities or add to your current listing.
·         Vienna 2.1 supports Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome fully.
 
To download the latest version please access www.freetestmanagementtool.com and login.
You will need to uninstall the previous version and then install 2.1
 
We would recommend that you export all of your projects before uninstalling to be on the safe side.
 
Free Test Management Tool New Version of Vienna Released - Friday, September 11, 2009

Hi All,
 
Firstly thanks for your support on www.freetestmanagementtool.com.  We have seen a good and steady increase in the number of people accessing and downloading our Vienna Desktop Edition.  We have also had some customers upgrade to Client Server as well.
 
The latest version of Vienna desktop is now available for download with some bug fixes relating to importing and exporting files utilising international characters (amongst others).  The release notes are on the site.  To install the latest version simply remove the old version and install the latest.  Your current data will remain in your SQL database so none of your data should be lost.
 
Keep an eye out for any new updates and thank you for your continued support.

 
Vienna 2 Launched in Denmark - Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Sorry for the lack of updates but its been a busy time launching Vienna 2 in Denmark at the old stock exchange building.  Just a quick Thank you to our friends in Denmark and for all those who attended. We will be uploading all the presentations from the day to the site shortly.

Free Test Management Tool First Project Uploaded - Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Hi All,

Again welcome to free test management tool and thanks for signing up if you have. We have had our first V2 project uploaded to the V2 files section of the free test management tool site.

Its a project created by our very own Mani titled "Certified for Windows Vista" which includes all of the resources to get your product up to a standard to have it certified for Windows Vista.

So today is hopefully the first step in creating the largest reusable set of test cases in the world ever. The site has gone live today and is being publicised to a select few so if your reading this then thats you. Please Register, Download the latest version of Vienna and start contributing.
